Thank u so much for your email and text. We arrived safely and we are enjoying this fantastic experience. The boys are over the moon! And we are too! Olympia riviera in Peloponnese is a wonderful and peaceful hotel where you can really wind out and totally relax, Many thanks again for your recommendations.

A great Sporades hotel on peaceful Skyros.

Having stayed in 4 star hotels on Skiathos, Skopelos and Skyros in the last fortnight, our best hotel by far was the Nefeli on Skyros.

The family suite in the new wing was a modern, cleverly designed cycladic style room with an upstairs mezzanine with a second double bed.

The view from the balcony looked up towards the town and derelict Skyros castro.

The breakfasts were superb with home cooked little cakes such as chocolate biscuit and small home made omelettes.

Unlike most Aegean islands, Skyros was little changed from when we went there in the mid 70s and the friendly, quiet local atmosphere predominates.

The only problem is the shortage of restaurants close by; most of the time we needed the car to drive the 10 minutes to the few restaurants down from the town.

Compared with the package tourism take-over of Skiathos, Skyros and the Nefeli were what we go on holiday for. 

If you have problems trying to book the Nefeli online, as we did, then you can book it through Ask Elena.

Just a note to say thank you – we had a lovely holiday in Korali apartments in Corfu,

so much so that we are thinking about going again next year.

Our holiday in Santorini was just great. The weather was about 32 to 34 each day with two very hot days but the rest of the time was very pleasant. It was just great being able to swim in an outdoor pool again which is something I really miss. The village of Fira, main town on the island, is on the edge of the caldera and thus our hotel had great views as the hotel is “stepped” down the side of the cliff. Each morning we had breakfast on the terrace which looked down to the bay 100m below ( the caldera of the Volcano – the island was a volcano which blew up thousands of years ago and the ocean flowed into the middle ) and watch the cruise ships pull in each morning for a stopover. We must have seen at least 18 ships over the 8 days. Our daily routine was breakfast, swim, relax, lunch,swim, snooze and then out to dinner each night at around 9pm. The town of Fira is very cute with narrow lanes and pathways with cars relegated to the outer side streets. The nightclubs were just amazing – dead until 1am and then they burst into life…

Just to say that our holidays in Cephalonia were excellent and we liked very much the Mezzao Apts. Vasso and her family were very helpful and the accommodation was great for our purpose! Thanks for advising us well once again!

When we were planning our first trip to the Sporades, we used Internet to look for useful information. We found your pages about Aegeolis, Skyros and made a print of it. When we arrived on Skyros from Kimi we took the bus up to Skyros town. It was obvious that we should go to the beaches and not stay in the town, so we got a taxi and showed the driver our papers about Aegeolis. The Internet information corresponded well with the real thing. The garden was nice and green and the patio the right place for breakfast and afternoon coffee. The beach was good and their was plenty of space for everyone.
Thank you once again for your internet pages which gave us a wonderful stay on Skyros.

First of all I want to say thanks for all help and service regarding our vacation at Corfu. We have just returned from 3 truly wonderful weeks at Korali Maisonettes. We all just loved the place, both the villas and the staff/guests. This is “the place” to relax – away from the noisy tourism.
